Parasols

• What kind of warranty does Platinum offer?
  A warranty applies to all our parasols. Our parasols have a warranty period of 2 years.

  Items covered by the warranty are:

  • Material errors
  • Constructions errors

  Matters not covered by guarantee:

  • Wear, tear and discoloring of covers
  • Damage to zippers
  • Wind damage
  • Damage caused by non-compliance with regulations
  • Professional use, such as Catering

  Please contact your dealer if you unexpectedly need to make a claim on the warranty.

• Are there different qualities of fabrics?

  Platinum products are available in various colours and come with different types of fabrics, each with its own specific characteristics. Take the time to consider various options. More information.

• Where can I buy a Platinum parasol?

  Platinum parasols are sold via a dealer network. Platinum does not sell directly to consumers. For The Netherlands and Belgium you can find you dealer via the webpage stores. 

• Does a Platinum parasol protect against UV radiation?

  All shade products offer protection from the sun, but not all products offer protection from harmful UV rays. The fabrics in the Platinum collection are specially selected and offer up to 98% UV protection.

  The sun not only affects the skin but also the colour of the fabric. You've probably seen it before, those faded purple fabrics. It's something nobody wants. More information.

•  Are Platinum parasols waterproof?

  The fabrics used have a high density and are therefore water-repellent. Class 4 fabric provides the best protection. Due to the tilt angle of the canopy, water flows away easily. No fabric offers 100% guaranteed waterproofing.

• Can I order a new canopy?

  If your canopy faded over time or has a defect over time, the canopy can be replaced. You can replace the canopy yourself. Inquire at the store where you purchased the parasol about the options available.

• How do I maintain my parasol?
  • Dry wet or damp parasol canopies in the open position. If a damp canopy is closed, open it as soon as possible to dry.
  • Remove fallen leaves and insect droppings as soon as possible.
  • Dirt is best brushed out dry with a soft brush.
  • Stains can be removed with lukewarm water, a soft brush, and a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly with clean water afterward. If desired, the canopy can be sprayed with a protective coating afterward. 
  • Avoid using aggressive detergents.
  • Pay attention when opening, closing, and rotating the parasol to ensure that the canopy does not come into contact with walls, etc., and that it does not become tangled between the parts.
  • Wipe any streaks on the aluminum profiles with a damp cloth.
  • When closing the parasol, ensure each fabric panel is folded outward away from the frame parts.
  • Roll the fabric panels over each other and secure with the strap to the mast.
  • When not in use, always use a protective cover to prevent unnecessary weather-related wear, tear and colour fading.
• Can a Platinum parasol be repaired?

  This depends on the extent of damage to the Platinum parasol, but of course, we always consider the options. Please consult your dealer for advice on whether the repair is covered by warranty and for an estimate of the costs.

   

   

   
• Can I order spare parts for my Platinum parasol?

  Platinum has most spare parts on stock. Please contact your dealer for pricing and availability.

• How can I safely use my parasol?
  • Whenever there is upcoming wind or wind gusts, close your parasol. The cover should not flutter in the wind.
  • Parasols should not be left open unattended. Any damage is not covered under warranty.
  • Ensure that there are no persons or objects within the range when operating the parasol. It may result in injury or property damage.
  • The anchorage must be adapted to the respective parasol size and location where you will use it. The best stability is obtained by permanent anchoring.
  • Parasols should only be used as sun protection. The wind resistance of the open sunshade is limited.

Garden furniture covers

• What size do I need?

  Read here how you can measure your garden furniture and find a suitable garden furniture cover.

• My size is not available?

  Many covers can serve multiple purposes. Rectangular garden furniture covers can also be used for smaller lounge sets. They might even be suitable for larger outdoor kitchens. If you can't find the right size immediately, consider looking in another category.

• Are AeroCovers Waterproof?

  AeroCover protective covers are water-resistant. However, no garden furniture cover is completely waterproof, despite often being claimed as such. The AeroCover fabric itself is waterproof, but the seams are only water-resistant. The seams at the top of AeroCover furniture covers are sealed with waterproof tape to prevent seepage. However, the seams can never be made 100% waterproof.

• Do I need to store a cushion bag indoors?

  A cushion bag is intended for indoor use as the zipper is not waterproof.

• There is condensation under my cover, why is this happening?

  Condensation formation is inevitable due to temperature differences. It is often mistakenly perceived as leakage.

  AeroCovers reduce condensation by transporting moisture outward. The extent of this process depends on weather conditions and relative humidity. Significant temperature differences and high relative humidity lead to increased condensation, especially during rainy weather.

  The strength of the sun and the level of ventilation (wind) will affect the reduction of condensation.

• Where can I buy the Platinum AeroCovers?

  AeroCovers are available for purchase through a large network of selected dealers. Click here to find the dealer nearest to you.

• Can an AeroCover fade in colour?

  Eventually, every cover will experience some degree of fading, and AeroCovers are no exception. However, due to their colourfast fibers, AeroCover covers retain their original colour for longer periods. Fading occurs gradually and can vary depending on the strength and duration of sunlight exposure. The fading of a cover does not compromise its primary function: protecting your garden furniture, parasol, or barbecue.

• Can I leave the cushions on my set with the cover over them?

  Yes. However, regularly remove the cover from your garden furniture to allow it to air out. During prolonged wet weather, we recommend storing the cushions indoors.

Shade sails

• Is the Coolfit shade sail waterproof?

  No, if you're looking for a waterproof shade sail, you'd better opt for a shade sail from our Dreamsail collection.

• How do I clean a shade sail?

  You can best clean the shade sails with a soft brush, lukewarm water and green soap.

• Is it allowed to put a shade sail in the washing machine?

  No, the products should absolutely not be put in the washing machine. The heat can cause the fabric to shrink.

• Can a shade sail remain hanging during a storm?

  Remove the shade sail during storms (wind force 6 or higher) and winter conditions to prevent damage.

• My Coolfit harmonica shade sail is running stiffly. What can I do?

  When the Coolfit harmonica shade sail runs stiff, it's best to lubricate the cables with Vaseline. If this doesn't resolve the issue, check if the cables are parallel.

• How do I install my shade sail?

  For the installation of your shade sail, you can use our Platinum Sun & Shade mounting materials. Please note, the mounting material is not included.
